Buenos Aires, January 15 (NA) – The news of Valeria Schwab, the woman found murdered in Comodoro Rivadavia, has caused a public stir. Her partner, Franco, stated that she was "the love of my life," while authorities investigate the case as a possible femicide, as the victim showed signs of extreme violence.
In an interview with local media, Franco expressed his grief following the crime and recounted his last conversation with the victim. "She was an excellent person, the love of my life," the man stated. He insists it was a femicide and that the police did not act properly, as it was the victim's own family who found her body in the vicinity of Chenque Hill.
Franco recounted that on Tuesday night she went for a walk, and during the walk, they spoke on the phone until 11:00 PM, when she stopped responding. As the hours passed and seeing that she had not returned home, family and friends decided to begin the search, which led to the woman being found dead in the early hours of Wednesday, January 14, according to the Argentine News Agency.
"We went to the Nautical Club and all the coast. Around three in the morning we found a sneaker. Then we climbed a few steps and there the body was," Franco recounted. The man claimed that during those hours of searching, they did not have the help of the police, and the first officers only appeared after the death was confirmed: "They were searching from above with a flashlight that wasn't lighting up anything."
Prosecutor Marcelo Cretton indicated that important test results are still pending, but the case "presents all the characteristics of a violent, forced death." One detail provided by the prosecutor that caught attention is that the victim's cell phone was found almost 200 meters from where Valeria's body was discovered.
